Liar Liar Pants On Fire

Story about my rant

Let me be the first to state that violence against women is absolutely and unequivocally wrong.  Under no circumstances is it ok to strike a woman.  Does not matter the circumstance, just walk away.

That being said, I do not like it when people use the "race" card or the "gender" card and lie to try to get away with something

In this story, the woman who was struck claims "She states she was punched when she pushed him away from the table in an effort to end the discussion."

Clearly from the video, she is lying.  While 20% of me feels bad that she got punched, the other 80% of me hopes that the court makes her pay for the court fees for wasting everyone's time.  I am glad for one thing tho, that she is white and could not play the "race" card.  Because if she did, it might end up more like this, or like this.

I understand there is still a lot of racism in the world, I am not blinded by my California bubble.  But crying wolf is not the way to go.  Let's all practice being better human beings, set the right example and help others follow suit.

Culture in USA in 2016

Recently I have been getting some questions from family members who do not live in the US about how Donald Trump can run for president in this country.  I have not been able to find the words to answer their question because I myself am trumped as well.  Well sometimes pictures paint a thousand words so let's try this instead:

I bet you that even though its only 1/6th the size that the Brangelina news on the top left got more clicks than the NY/NJ bombing headline.  If only I could provide you with the numbers, then you'd understand how Donald Trump is running for president.

Pay attention to your surroundings

Tony Farmer recently was released from jail after serving a little over 2 years and his recent comments concerned me.  Somehow I don't think he gets it:

"Honestly it's pretty simple," Farmer told the Democrat when asked what he hoped his talk would accomplish. "Before any action, just really sit down and think – think before you act. Anything can happen. You have to be on your toes and pay attention to your surroundings all the time. Really, learn from my mistake and (from) everyone else who have made a big, crucial mistake in their life."

Hmm.  "be on your toes and pay attention to your surroundings"?  Is he referring to make sure you look around to see if there are cameras recording what you are doing?  Somehow that doesn't sound like someone who understands the gravity of why he was wrong.

But who am I to judge, the kid is only is only 20 and he has many years to continue growing..  I hope he is rehabilitated, learned his lesson, honestly say he is a changed man.  No longer a danger to society.  On a serious note, I really do wish him the best.  Everyone loves a good redemption story and I hope he succeeds in his comeback and uses his platform to bring awareness to why violence against women is wrong.

Best of luck Mr. Farmer.

Katy Perry on Ellen

(article reference)

I know I shouldn't think like this but Katy Perry was on Ellen to meet one of the survivors of the Orlando shooting and at the end of the video clip she tells him that she wants to pay for the first year of film school so he can pursue his dream.  Is it bad that to me, this gesture is half assed and cheap?  I mean, what is she thinking?  He would already be going if he could afford it. What is he going to do as a film school drop out after 1 year?  And it's not like she can't afford to just pay for his film school or partner up with some financial firm that wants some PR and get him funded for his entire schooling.

Tsk tsk, bad PR manager Katy, get a new one.
